Shipping policy
Everything we sell is made to order in our shop in Texas, so an order ships when it is made, not from a shelf. This page covers when your order ships, what shipping costs, and what to do if something goes wrong on the way.
When your order ships
Our lead time is the number of business days from when you place your order to when it leaves our shop. It changes with how busy the shop is, so the current lead time is shown in your cart before you check out.
The lead time does not include the carrier's transit time. We have no control over how long an independent carrier takes once a package is in its hands.
If we can't ship your order within the lead time shown when you placed it, we tell you and give you a new date. You can then cancel for a full refund instead of waiting, whether or not production has started.
Canceling an order
You can cancel or change an order, for a full refund, at any time before production starts on it. Your order's status page shows when it does. See our refund policy.
What shipping costs
- Lower 48 states and Washington, DC: Shipping is free.
- Tie rods over 7 feet: A long rod can't travel as an ordinary package, so it pays a long-item rate, shown at checkout. A tie rod with a turnbuckle ships as two shorter rods, so many long spans still ship free.
- Alaska, Hawaii, and other destinations outside the lower 48: Shipping is calculated for your address at checkout, so you see the cost before you pay.
- Canada: Shipping is calculated for your address at checkout as well. Duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees are not included; the customer pays them on delivery.
Tracking
You will get a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships. Heavy orders often ship in more than one box, and each box has its own tracking number, so check the tracking for each one. You can also look up your order's status on our site at any time.
Lost or damaged shipments
Unfortunately, orders are sometimes lost or damaged in shipping. If a box is late, missing, or damaged, contact us with its tracking number and we will help resolve it. If there is damage, send us photos and as much detail as you can. We file the claim with the carrier on your behalf.
Returns
Our parts are cut and built to order, and heavy steel is expensive to ship, so we can't accept returns in most cases. Please review your order carefully before you place it, and call us if you are unsure about a size. See our refund policy.
