Post Caps & Post Bases for Heavy Timber

Heavy steel connectors for the top and bottom of a timber post, made to the size your timbers really are. Post caps seat a beam on a post: one for a single beam, one for a corner, and one for crossing beams. The standoff post base holds a post to concrete, 1" above the slab. Each takes posts and beams from 4x4 to 12x12, surfaced or rough-sawn.

Set your sizes in the configurator, watch the part drawn in 3D, and see its price as you go. Every part is laser cut from 3/16" steel plate and welded to order in Texas, and ships free in the lower 48. These are also called column caps and column bases.

Not sure what size to enter, or which bolts the holes take? Our heavy timber connector guide covers measuring timbers, steel, bolts, and finish.

01 Configurators

Made to your dimensions

Each configurator draws your part in 3D as you set its sizes and prices it as you go, by its steel and its weld. “From” is the least a part from it costs; “as drawn” is the price of the part in the drawing. Lengths set in 1/8" steps, fastener diameters in 1/16".
