Case study
Awning Tie Rods at CAVA Restaurants
Builders have hung the timber awnings on CAVA restaurants across the country from our black steel tie rods and brackets, including League City, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Orlando, Florida, with more on the way. We supplied the builders; CAVA itself isn't our customer, and this page isn't sponsored or endorsed by CAVA. Here's what went into those storefronts.
01 What we supplied
The Systems We Built
Each canopy hangs from 1/2" steel tie rods, fabricated to the builders' own bracket designs: round wall brackets in League City, square in Indianapolis. At the canopy, a laser-cut steel plate bolts to the side of each canopy beam, and the rods pin to both brackets and plates with clevises. Each rod is threaded right-hand at one end and left-hand at the other, so turning the rod draws both clevises in together: the rods tension on site without a turnbuckle. Every rod, bracket, and plate was finished in our shop-standard matte black powder coat.
The bracket designs weren't ours, and they didn't need to be. We build from customers' drawings and price them the same way as everything on our site: by the pounds of steel and inches of weld. There's no charge for customization.
