01 Description
About the heel truss plate
The Taiga heel truss plate is useful for connecting truss bottom chords to top chords where the top chord sits on the bottom chord.
V plates connect to roof members so they depend on roof pitch.
3/16" is our standard plate and suits most decorative work; 1/4" is a third heavier and stiffer. Our plates are architectural hardware, not engineered or load-rated.
Timber sizes are a guide. Where the bolts land depends on your timbers and roof pitch, so a plate may need to sit off center, and confirming that the connection meets your building code is the builder’s responsibility. Our guide to bolt distances shows how far each bolt sits from the ends and edges of its timber.
