Taiga Steel Timber Truss Plates for 4"–8" Wide Timbers

The Taiga Collection is a line of slender timber truss plates for timbers 4" to 8" wide. Named for the conifer forests of the north, its long lines are 4" wide along the truss's perimeter timbers and 3" wide on webs like king posts and struts. The smallest size is an actual width: a Taiga plate won't fit a surfaced 4x4, which is only 3 1/2" wide.

Every plate a truss needs is here: king post, peak, heel, collar tie, strut, fan, and strut fan truss plates, a ridge beam truss saddle, and T, corner, and splice plates. Each is laser cut from 3/16" or 1/4" steel at roof pitches from 3/12 to 12/12, with 11/16" holes for 5/8" bolts unless you choose another size. Plates ship unfinished; add matte black powder coating in the cart. Shipping is free in the lower 48 states.

02 Plates

Every Taiga plate

Drawn to one scale from the cutting files; plates that come in pitches are shown at 12/12. A plate without a cutting file shows the shop’s drawing, not to scale.

03 Heel

Heel plate or collar tie plate?

A rafter and a tie beam meet in one of two ways, and each takes its own plate.

04 Collections

Six collections, drawn to one scale.

Each collection’s king post truss plate at 12/12, from its cutting file. Each collection fits a range of timber widths.

12" at this scale.
